Housing Costs

These are the costs for the 2015–16 academic year. Click here for last year's costs.


Prices listed below do not include the $35 application fee which must be submitted with the contract. For more detailed information, you can also download a copy of our Residence Hall Contract or Apartment Contract.

Housing charges are broken into three payments per semester.
All payments are due the 15th of the month. A $25 administrative fee is assessed each time a payment due date has been missed until the balance has been satisfied.

    *Meal plans are required for all on-campus freshmen and sophomores.
    **Single rooms (unless for medical reasons) are typically available only in the spring semester, and on a very limited basis. A limited amount of suites are available in Wiest Hall for an additional $200 per year in addition to the room rate.

Contract period: The standard Residence Hall Contract is for both the fall and spring semesters of any academic year. The halls open for the fall semester on the Thursday prior to the beginning of classes. They open for the spring semester on the Sunday prior to the beginning of classes.

    *Charges are per person. A $200 security deposit, along with a $35 application fee, must accompany each contract. The security deposit will be held through the length of the contract.

Contract period: The standard Apartment Contract runs from August 7 of the current year through May 24 of the following year. Summer housing may be contracted separately.
Utilities: All utilities are included in the housing payments.

    *Charges are per person. A $200 security deposit, along with a $35 application fee, must accompany each contract. The security deposit will be held through the length of the contract. Two-Bedroom Shared apartment is between two FHSU students; families pay the standard One- or Two-Bedroom rate.

Costs are subject to change without notice by the Kansas State Board of Regents.
Wooster Place rates are set by the Kansas State Board of Regents. Current rates are effective through July 31, 2016.
