Robin Unruh, MSW, LSCSW, LCAC

Robin Unruh

Robin Unruh obtained her Master's of Social Work from the University of Kansas in 2002. She also has a bachelors degree in Psychology from St. Mary of the Plains College and an Associates of Science Degree from Garden City Community College. After working as an LMSW, she realized the need to obtain more understanding in the area of addictions counseling. She then obtained her Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) in 2011. She obtained her Licensed Clinical Social Work (LSCSW) in 2012.

Her clinical social work focus the last five years include working with individuals within the corrections system including the last three specifically with juveniles. She has previously been employed as a Program Therapist providing counseling to older adults in an outpatient mental health program. She also spent 5 years working in child welfare with the State of Kansas.

She began serving as an Adjunct Instructor with FHSU BSW Cohort Program in Garden City KS in January 2012. Prior to that she provided adjunct instruction at Garden City Community College with their Addictions Counseling program.

Robin is a "lifer" in Southwest Kansas, having graduated from Deerfield High School, Deerfield KS while currently serving as the President of the DHS Alumni Association. She has also been a member of the Garden City Municipal Band since 1986. Additional hobbies include 'watching people' and gaining 'knowledge for the sake of knowledge' in a variety of subject areas.
