Students at Fort Hays State have many opportunities for Study Abroad depending on what fits best with their program of study. Students can choose from a variety of programs whether it be a short-term study abroad experience or a full academic year in their country of choice.
Our Faculty-Led Programs offer FHSU students a very impactful experience while traveling with fellow Tiger students and faculty usually during the intercession, spring break, or summer session. Many of our programs offer academic coursework in a variety of disciplines while offering meaningful cultural experiences in a variety of international environments.
National Student Exchange (NSE) is a wonderful opportunity for students that offers an alternative to doing an international study abroad experience. NSE offers students the option to study away at a university in the United States, including Guam, Puerto Rica, the US Virgin Islands, and Canada. There are many universities available for a semester or yearlong exchange.
FHSU Students who are looking for an independent semester or academic year program can take advantage of an exchange opportunity at one of our University Exchange Partners in Germany, South Korea, China, Spain, or Northern Ireland. These programs can offer programs in second language learning as well as courses in a variety of disciplines.
Study Abroad Program Providers offer students a variety of unique opportunities for study abroad. Program Providers offer programs during every term with many different program models. Program models vary from language learning, service learning and volunteering, interning, or traditional study abroad. These programs can offer students on-site local staff support along with pre-departure orientation, visa processing, and on-program advising.
While FHSU students are considering an international study abroad program, many times they are interested in not only an academic experience, but also a hands-on work experience in a different country. Students can choose to participate in International Internships that will enhance their program of study or career aspirations after they graduate.
