Dr. Sara Mata

Dr. Sara Mata finalDr. Sara Mata is the National Science Foundation National Research Traineeship Program Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Dr. Mata received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Juvenile Corrections and Treatment, a Master's degree in Community Counseling, a Master's degree in Sociology, and a Doctorate degree in Social Foundations from Oklahoma State University. An extensive career at all levels of education and working with families and communities, Sara is active in serving both professional and community organizations. Dr. Mata currently serves as the NASPA-National Association Student Personnel Administrators Latinx/a/o Knowledge Community National Co-Chair, a Foundation Ambassador for NASPA Region IV-W and is an active board member for Pawnee/Osage CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocate. A Kansas native, Dr. Mata's greatest passion is working with and empowering students to achieving their full potential, essential to giving back and investing in future generations.

Adan Gonzalez web sizeAdan Gonzalez, Founder and Executive Director of the Puede Network!,grew up in South Oak Cliff, one of the toughest, poorest neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas. He is the son of two immigrants of Leon Guanajuato Mexico and one of four children. Adan is currently pursing his M.Ed. in Education Policy and Management at Harvard Graduate School of Education. He graduated from Georgetown University, majoring in government and with a minor in Education, Inquiry and Justice, while working for the U.S Department of Education and the White House. Adan served as the captain of the Georgetown University Boxing team, and won the US National Collegiate Championship. Adan is a US Congressional Gold Medalist, Jefferson National Public Service Awardee, Coors Light National Latino Leader of the Year, Gates Millennium Scholar and National Coca Cola Scholar. Adan is working full time with the Puede Network!, he organizes initiatives with C-Suite executives to provide comprehensive college access services, volunteer opportunities, and mentorship to underprivileged students in inner city public schools. He has engaged with over 100,000 students and parents in numerous states through presentations, blogs and radio programs, advocating the importance of higher education, parental support, and community involvement. Adan aspires to make his family proud - to make a difference in the community.
