It’s just not a football game at FHSU without the thunder and echoes of the Tiger Marching Band. The Band brings that roaring Tiger Spirit to all home FHSU Football games with stirring pre-game shows, entertaining halftime performances, and a lot of fun in the stands. The band also plays for the annual Homecoming Bonfire and Parade and hosts the High Plains Marching Festival. With 150 students from nearly every academic discipline, the Tiger Marching Band has a long tradition of service to the University. All Marching Band members earn a service stipend with first year members receiving $300. Stipends increases are awarded each year! Non-music major instrumentalists in good academic standing are eligible for the Miller Award, which provides up to an additional $250. All students, regardless of major, are also encouraged to audition for scholarships available through the Department of Music. The FHSU Color Guard and Tiger Debs also perform with the Tiger Marching Band at all home football games. Stipends for these auxiliary groups start at $350 with increases each year.
