Welcome to our Web site! The Fort Hays State University Department of Nursing has courses and programs designed to meet your diverse learning needs in a student centered learning environment.

The Department of Nursing BSN and MSN programs incorporate high-technology in a student friendly environment. Internet access is available to students through the nursing computer lab and wireless environments across campus. Nursing courses are delivered with an emphasis on the use of the internet for student learning in our on campus program, and through the delivery of internet courses off campus through the Virtual College. Our programs of study lead to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing degree. We also offer post-masters certification in nursing administration, nursing education, and family nurse practitioners. Our new MSN curriculum, which began in 2006, incorporates new courses in healthcare systems and foundations for advanced nursing, evidence-based practice, as well as more emphasis on ethical and legal issues that impact our practice.

As a student in our department, you will interact with a core of well qualified faculty who are eager to share rich clinical and nursing experiences with you in courses with small class sizes. You will also have the opportunity to develop networks and lasting friendships with your fellow learners through nursing student organizations.

Our graduates are heavily recruited for career opportunities in a variety of nursing specialities and go on to serve the public in exciting leadership roles.
