Final Steps
- Once admitted to the Graduate School, register for the courses identified on the Licensure Plan of Study sent to you. You must take courses in the semester indicated unless prior approval is obtained by T2T program personnel. https://www.fhsu.edu/student-affairs/register
- Work closely with your on-site Mentor (appointed by your employing school) and the FHSU University Supervisor. The FHSU University Supervisor will evaluate your teaching twice each semester. Please watch for an email from the Office of Field Experiences and Licensure regarding who has been assigned to you as a supervisor.
- Maintain Continual Progress in your program as identified in the Graduate School policies, KSDE regulations, and FHSU Professional Teacher Education Program Policies. For all T2T students a 3.0 minimum GPA is required and no grade lower than a C.
- Complete and pass ETS PPAT performance portfolio during last Spring semester of the program. Take and pass the ETS PLT test during last semester of the program. Both are required to move to the next type of license.
- After successful completion of the program, teacher work sample, and all licensure tests, apply for full licensure through KSDE. Form 1 – https://www.ksde.org/Agency/Division-of-Learning-Services/Teacher-Licensure-and-Accreditation/Licensure/License-Application. KSDE will issue you the license that you are eligible for - either an Initial License or a Professional License. They will make that determination based on whether you held a restricted license for a full two years and were in the same district for the full two years. If that is the case, you will receive a Professional License because you would have been mentored for a full two years while in the program. If you receive an Initial License, then you will need to complete the mentoring requirement with your district during the next school year.
