She was elected Student Government Association president last spring, and officially took office June 1 with her running mate, Vivian Agnew, Wichita senior.

Fort Hays State University was well represented at the recent Leadership Kansas session at the Kansas State University Agricultural Research Center in Hays. Dr. Craig Smith, assistant professor of agriculture, was a panelist for the discussion on the future of agriculture. Smith spoke on the use of drones in agriculture and demonstrated how to fly drones.

Harrison Urban’s love of the water has turned into a learning tool. Always looking to try something new at the Herndon Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, assistant clinic coordinator Breanna Taylor tried using aquatic therapy with Harrison, the son of Blake and Theresa Urban, Hays. Taylor, with graduate clinician Sammy Ingham and Kelly Flaska, aquatic/fitness supervisor at The Center for Health Improvement, teamed up this summer to combine speech therapy with aquatic therapy with Harrison.

Members of the “C” shift of the City of Hays Fire Department rescue team spent Monday morning participating in a high-angle training exercise, and the “A” and “B” shifts are scheduled to do the same later this week.
