Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects (OSSP)
In alignment with the university’s core value of knowledge and scholarship, the Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects (OSSP) provides guidance, oversight, and support to the scholarly and creative activities of Fort Hays State University in the following areas:
Grants and Funding - training, guidance, and contract assistance for external grants and oversees the internal grant programs at FHSU.
Research Compliance and Policies - Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Care and Use of Animals Committee (IACUC), CITI Training, Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and other areas of research compliance.
Promoting a Culture of Research and Scholarship - ample research opportunities are available for undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty and staff, including the campus-wide research symposium, SACAD.
Mission Statement
The FHSU Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects provides support for the university community by serving as the central administrative unit responsible for the acquisition of external resources through grants and contracts, providing support and guidance for regulatory compliance and the responsible conduct of research, and supporting high quality undergraduate student-faculty research and scholarship.
Vision Statement
The FHSU Office of Scholarship and Sponsored Projects will grow the university research enterprise with an emphasis on faculty-student collaborations that support the discovery of new knowledge, creative and entrepreneurial activities and community engagement efforts to the benefit of Kansas, the nation, and the world.
