Motor Pool
- The Motor Pool Fleet consists of (6) cars; (1) 7-passenger mini-van; (1) 8-passenger van; (4) 12-passenger vans; and a Ryder truck.
- There is a minimum fee of $24.60/day for cars, if the car does not travel more than 60 miles per day; a minimum fee of $22.50/day for the mini-van, if the van does not travel more than 50 miles per day; and a minimum fee of $29.50/day for the 8- and 12-passenger vans, if those vans do not travel more than 50 miles per day, when reserved for travel, the Ryder truck is a flat fee of $20 per day.

Motor Pool Rental Policies
- A copy of the FHSU Policy on Use of State Vehicles is in each vehicle and on-line.
- Only state employees, including students on payroll, are allowed to drive a Motor Pool vehicle. Drivers must also be at least 18 years old.
- Unless on official business, non FHSU employees are NOT allowed to ride in a Motor Pool vehicle.
- If trip cancellation occurs, please give the Motor Pool at least 24-hour notice before the planned trip departure. Failure to notify us will result in a cancellation fee of one day charge. Cancellations caused by severe weather or circumstances beyond your control will be exempt from this fee upon the Motor Pool's discretion.
- Motor Pool Vehicles are to used for state business only. Vehicles are NOT permitted to be used for personal use or parked at a residence for any amount of time.
- Trailer towing with a Motor Pool vehicle is NOT permitted at anytime.
- Motor Pool vehicles are not designed for off-road use. Motor Pool vehicles are not equipped with four-wheel drive.
- If a vehicle is returned to the Motor Pool excessively dirty, we will charge a cleaning fee to your department. The amount will depend on how dirty the vehicle is and how much time it took to clean it.
- Rows of seats can be removed from the 12 passenger vans to make roo for luggage and other items. The configurations are as follows: 1 row removed -8psg, 2 rows removed- 5 psg, 3 rows removed- 2psg. A fee of $5 will be charged for each row of seats removed.
- State employees are covered by insurance purchased by the state only when they are acting within the scope of their authority or within the course of their employment. Insurance purchased by the State does not necessarily eliminate the desirability of the individual to whom the vehicle is assigned having additional protection by a "drive other vehicle" endorsement on his or her own insurance.
Motor Pool Rental Procedures
- The Motor Pool's hours are: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please arrange to pick up vehicle keys during these hours.
- Always return a car to the stall corresponding with the garage door key located in the glove box.
- Return outside vehicles to Motor Pool parking lot located on the South side of the building. Lock vehicle and return keys to the drop box next to the front door of the building.
- You are not requied to return a Motor Pool vehicle full of fuel, but if fuel is required, there is a P-Card provided in the glove box for fueling purposes only. Please attach the receipt with the P-Card and return it in the glove box.
- By University policy, large vans are allowed to carry only 12 passengers, including the driver.
- All emergency info is found in the binder that is inside the vehicle.

Motor Pool Shop
- The Motor Pool Shop is able to maintain and repair campus vehicles and equipment upon request.
- The Motor Pool's labor is $45/hour
