Brenda Hoopingarner, MS, RT(R), RDMS, RVT
Ms. Hoopingarner is a Professor in the Allied Health Department at FHSU. She served as the Chair of the Allied Health Department from 2003 to 2024. She established the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program in 2002 and has served as the Program Director since. Her teaching expertise includes radiology and medical diagnostic imaging with a focus within the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Ms. Hoopingarner also teaches Administration in Medical Imaging Education within the Master of Professional Studies (Medical Imaging Education) graduate program.
Prior to joining the faculty at FHSU in 1994, Brenda worked as a multi-modality technologist, working in radiology, mammography, interventional vascular procedures, CT, nuclear medicine, and sonography from 1988 – 1994. Brenda and her husband reside in Otis, KS and have three sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and their two dogs, Diesel, and Ruger. She also enjoys tackling DIY projects.
