Dr. Wally Guyot
Emeritus Professor of Business Education
Dr. Guyot taught at Fort Hays State University from 1979 to 2018. He was chair of the Department of Business Education and Office Administration from 1979 to 1995, and also served as chair of the Department of Teacher Education from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Guyot also taught at Tennessee Technological University for six years, Southwest Minnesota State University for three years, and five years at two high schools in South Dakota. A few of the courses taught at these universities are as follows: Introduction to Business, Records Management, Business Management, Credit Management, Personnel Selection and Recruitment, Data Processing, FORTRAN, BASIC, Introduction to Computer Systems, Real Estate, Keyboarding, Shorthand, Business Teaching Methods, Business Letter Writing, and Business Report Writing.
Dr. Guyot has been active in the Kansas Business Education Association, and served as treasurer and president of KBEA. He also served as the Kansas representative on the Mountain-Plains Business Association Board for three years, and has been a member of the National Business Education Association for many years. Finally, Dr. Guyot has been a Rotarian since 1980, serving as as the club secretary for six years and president for one year. He served as a multi-district trainer for club secretaries for three years and is proud to be a Paul Harris Fellow.
