A general studies student has clear and defined career goals that do not need a traditionally prescribed disciplinary degree. The Bachelor of General Studies program is an undergraduate liberal arts degree available through the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
To be eligible for the General Studies degree, a student must have completed college course work after high school graduation. This degree is typically not a suitable pathway for first-time freshmen. First-time freshmen should refer to the Exploratory major for assistance in completing general education requirements and clarifying their educational goals.
