Dodge City students named 2014 Homecoming King and Queen at FHSU

Two Dodge City students, junior Brenna Briggs and senior Jared Helfrich, were announced as the Homecoming 2014 queen and king at Fort Hays State University.

Briggs is majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Justin and Tracee Briggs, Dodge City. Her activities include Catholic Disciples, intramural softball and basketball, UAB and Athletics events. She was nominated by Catholic Disciples.

Helfrich is majoring in agribusiness. He is the son of Brian and Kate Helfrich, Dodge City. His activities include Catholic Disciples, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Intramurals, and he previously played on the FHSU football and baseball teams. He was nominated by Catholic Disciples.

They were crowned by FHSU President Mirta Martin during the halftime show of the FHSU-Missouri Western Homecoming game on Oct. 11.

Flowers for the occasion were donated by Flowers by Frances, 2424 Vine St. in Hays.
