A Fort Hays State University choir once again has been selected to perform at the Kansas Music Educators Association inservice workshop in Wichita in February. Performing this time will be FHSU's concert choir, the seventh group to be honored in a 10-year span.
A singing group is chosen on the basis of a recording sent in from the previous year's concerts. A school's choir can only apply if it did not perform the previous year.
Since Dr. Terry Crull, associate professor of music and theatre, arrived at FHSU in 2006, he has conducted choirs at the all-state convention in 2007 (concert choir), 2008 (Fort Hays Singers), 2011 (concert choir and Fort Hays Singers) and 2013 (concert choir). Because Fort Hays State got snowed out in 2013 and was unable to attend the convention, its concert choir was chosen to perform again the next year.
