Dr. Chapman Rackaway, professor of political science, was recently named director of liberal education.

The director oversees university-wide educational initiatives and programs related to liberal education programs to ensure effective curriculum implementation and assessment. Rackaway will act as a point of contact for deans, department chairs, faculty, staff and administrators on all liberal education information.

Rackaway has served as a faculty member in the Department of Political Science since 2003. In that time, he has won the 2015 FHSU President's Distinguished Scholar award, written five books and contributed chapters to nine edited volumes and been active in promoting civic engagement on campus.
