HAYS, Kan. - FHSU’s National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) will host its fifth annual Soup Fest fundraiser Oct. 24 from 5-7 p.m. in the Albertson Hall foyer.
NSSLHA is a student organization in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Proceeds from the event will go to offset the expenses of families with children receiving services at the Herndon Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.
The clinic’s primary purpose is to provide students majoring in the field of communication disorders with observation and clinical experiences related to speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders. Since the 1950s, it has served as a resource for the community and western Kansas. The clinic provides life-changing services for individuals of all ages.
Soup Fest is open to the public and includes games and activities for all ages. The cost is $10 for three samples or one bowl of soup, dessert, and water. Attendees are encouraged to vote on their favorite soup and tour the Herndon Clinic.
