What does it mean to be selected for this award?
Being selected for the Lynn Haggard Undergraduate Library Research Award is a great honor, and I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. Through this project, I learned so much about research and the library, and I am thankful I can showcase all I learned.
What are your future career goals?
In the future, I hope to continue furthering my research skills through laboratory research opportunities. I enjoy conducting research and being in a laboratory setting, so I hope to find a career in which I can do both.
Why should other students get involved in research?
This research project provided me with opportunities and learning experiences that would not have been available to me without getting involved in undergraduate research. I gained skills and knowledge that I truly believe I will use in the future, whether in my career or everyday life.
Drawing on an impressive range of national and state-level statutes, case law, and peer-reviewed literature, Kelsie constructed a nuanced analysis that bridges legal studies, criminology, and public policy. What makes her work stand out is not only the originality of her inquiry but also the thoughtful way she engaged with library resources.
