Classroom to Classroom (C2C)
Fort Hays State University has partnered with Barton Community College (BCC) and Dodge City Community College (DC3) to provide scholarships to students plus community members interested in pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.

What is Classroom to Classroom?
The program is designed for individuals:
- interested in teaching Elementary Education
- who will continue to teach in their community
- continuing to work while in school (especially for those working in a school)
The curriculum is delivered online with field experiences and student teaching completed in their community.
Individuals selected for one of the twelve scholarships at BCC and DC3 is eligible for up to $1,000 each semester (both fall and spring semesters.)
What is a Classroom to Classroom scholarship?
C2C Scholarships are designed to address financial barriers to earning a teaching license.
These scholarships can be paired with other grants, scholarships, and/or student loans to more completely cover the expenses of becoming a teacher.
Fort Hays State University and community college partners (Dodge City Community College and Barton Community College) have aligned specific course credit hours to allow students to complete the program in 120 credits.
Who is eligible to apply?
Preferred applicants are:
- starting their associates degree in education
- likely to earn their initial teaching license
- interested in teaching
- currently in positions such as:
- teacher aides
- paraeducators
- support staff
- traditional students
Applicants are required to have declared a major in education, focused on the goals of Elementary Education and/or Special Education. They must also express an intent to remain in their local communities after earning their initial teaching license.
