University Communications prepares and disseminates news releases locally, regionally, nationally, and direct to hometown news channels. We also distribute news via social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Media Relations
University Communications works with external media to advance the reputation of the university. This includes promoting FHSU faculty and staff thought leaders earning positive media coverage of the university and our people. As the number of news outlets in Kansas and the nation continues to decline, we have to be proactive in promoting the university by providing newsworthy content and marketing our subject matter experts.

University Communications works with Affinity Licensing to advance the reputation of the university and its brand. Affinity also provides legal protection for our identity marks.

Tiger Gear on Friday (TGOF)
Show that you are proud to be a Tiger! Wear TIGER GEAR on Friday.
The Tiger Gear on Friday tradition is a celebration of the innovative, determined, and caring people that make Tiger Nation unique. TGOF is our version of casual Friday. It is a partnership involving several campus organizations and our friends in the Hays community. TGOF activities include events on campus and with our community partners and weekly social media postings and spirit competitions.
