Real-World Applications
Students pursuing a B.A./B.S. in Political Science gain valuable hands-on experience through thoughtfully designed coursework and internship opportunities. These experiences demonstrate how classroom learning translates to real-world applications, allowing students to actively engage with political systems, public policy, and civic life beyond the academic setting.
Furthermore, internship ventures allow students to work closely on a project in a political election campaign, law office, a legislator's office, the U.S. State Department, and many other places where knowledge from the classroom comes alive in decisions that have a meaningful impact on communities and society.
Stay Ahead of the Curve
Students are exposed to the latest research in political science throughout their studies. New and innovative techniques for evaluating data are discussed in the POLS 455 Research Methods course and the POLS 455 Senior Capstone course.
Seminar courses discuss current events through a sophisticated analysis of academic literature. Areas of discussion may include democracy, justice, voting, the Supreme Court, and Kansas politics.
