Program Summary for Ed.S. in Education Administration (Superintendent)

During your time at FHSU, your program of study in the Department of Advanced Education Programs will prepare you to face the challenges of leading a school district from the position of superintendent or assistant superintendent. You must maintain a 3.25 grade point average in all graduate coursework and complete your classes within six years.

AEP 975 Problems in Education III: The Scholar Practitioner (3 credit hours)
EDL 951 Advanced Educational Administration (3 credit hours)
EDL 952 Trends and Practices in Educational Administration (3 credit hours)
EDL 955 Education Facilities (3 credit hours)
SPED 801 Legal/Professional Issues for Special Education (3 credit hours)
AEP 973 Problems in Education III: District Finance (3 credit hours)
AEP 979 Practicum in Education III: Superintendent (3 credit hours)
AEP 932 Research Design and Analysis (3 credit hours)
AEP 999 Field Study (6 credit hours)

Total Credit Hours: 30


Note: Before enrolling in AEP 932 & 999 as final courses, you must contact your advisor.

All credit toward the specialist in education degree must be earned at FHSU. Any exception to this requirement must have the prior approval of the Dean of the Graduate School.
