Center for Civic Leadership
The Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) is a nationally recognized institute for civic engagement and leadership development that provides high-quality co-curricular and educational programs and initiatives to enhance civic leadership skills and development. The goal of which is to nurture a new generation of engaged dedicated citizens who have the capabilities to act on behalf of the greater public good and facilitate positive change.
The CCL's leadership model emphasizes collective action through collaboration for the purpose of addressing social needs and injustices. While civic participation and public service are vital in our in a democratic society, it is the link with leadership that helps shape the decision-making process and its outcomes. These citizens identify key issues, raise questions, voice opinions, challenge traditional authority, and take appropriate actions.
Fraternity & Sorority Life
Fraternities and Sororities are one of the best ways for you to get involved in campus life, make new friends and enrich your college experience. Here are a few reasons why you should consider membership in a fraternity or sorority organization: friendships will last a lifetime; academic standards produce excellence both in and out of the classroom; leadership opportunities provide you with valuable experiences for the world after college; philanthropic and community service activities help those in need and give back to the community.
Inclusion and Diversity Programs
Student Engagement offers educational diversity programs and experiences to help people feel welcomed, valued, and respected at FHSU. By better understanding what makes people, cultures, and genders different, we learn how to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, which builds community and prepares us for the working world.
Orientation and Transition Programs
It's your first year at Fort Hays State, and you want to succeed! Student Engagement hosts intentional orientations to help you excel in the classroom and adjust to life as a Tiger whether you're a first-year or transfer student. Challenges? Fears? Obstacles? FYE provides you with the resources and support to overcome these barriers to success.
