Assist the Intramural director with planning, scheduling, administration, management, and supervision of the Intramural department. All hired staff is expected to look and act professionally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduling activities
- Dress appropriately in proper attire
- Arrive 10 minutes early to all assignments
- Supervise and administer activities
- Provide input to director
- Teach assigned classes
- Assist in training for officiating sport(s)
- Understand and operate the IM-REC department
- Schedule, contact, and access program clients at the instruction of the director
- Provide leadership to IM-REC staff
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Weekly meetings
- Serve as director in the absence of the director and assistant director
- Supervise all undergraduate student workers
Qualifications(As specified by Fort Hays State University)/Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of a minimum of 24 hours in Health & Human Performance
- Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or GPA of 2.75 and a satisfactory score on the GRE or MAT
- Completed application for admission to the Graduate School
- Official Transcripts of all college credit submitted to the Graduate School
- Three letters of recommendation
- Students from abroad must obtain a satisfactory score on the TOEFL examination
- BS or BA degree
- Two years experience in intramurals and/or college recreation
- Two years of officiating
Skills
- Good people skills
- Adequate communication skills
- Good leadership skills
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPR/First Aid certifications preferred
Physical Demands
- Manage teaching (if assigned), personal classes, and extra hours involved in activities. Walking, lifting, and running may be involved.
Work Environment/Environmental Conditions
- Small amount of work will be required inside the classroom
- Work will be in a variety of areas both inside and outside
