Summer Office Assistant
Summer assistants need to be versatile people. Many tasks need to be completed within a short amount of time, so jobs may vary drastically from day to day. Primary responsibility will be assisting the intramural director in preparing for following year activities. All hired staff is expected to look and act professionally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist director in administration of the activities in the FHSU IM-REC department
- Dress appropriately in proper attire
- Arrive 10 minutes early to all assignments
- Inventory supplies
- Organize rooms
- General maintenance
- Prepare end of year reports
- Prepare manuscripts for following year
- Assist director in preparing for next year activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience
- Certified lifeguards are preferred. Summer staff may be asked to take specific classes to make the staff as a whole more versatile. For example, in the past, staff members have been asked to complete lifeguard training and water safety instructor training.
- Working knowledge of FHSU IM-REC department
- Current FHSU students
- Work-study recipients preferred
- Minimum one semester as FHSU IM-REC employee
Skills
- Adequate computer skills
- Hard working
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPR/First Aid preferred
- Lifeguard certification preferred
Physical Demands
- Daily work varies. One day, workers may be indoors doing office work and the next they could be outside working on the intramural fields. Light lifting, walking and possible running may be involved.
Work Environment/Environmental Conditions
- This varies depending upon the tasks at hand
Hours & Pay
Typically these positions range in hours from 10-20 hours per week. Pay is consistent across campus at $10/hour.
