Brenna Johnson Selected as National Newman Civic Fellow
I am happy to announce that Brenna Johnson, Beloit senior and Organizational Leadership major, has been selected as a Newman Civic Fellow for 2015 by Campus Compact of Boston, Massachusetts. Johnson will be joining 201 students across the United States as 2015 honorees. As a Newman Civic Fellow, Johnson will join a network of Fellows around the country to share ideas and build on their successful civic engagement record. In addition to her academic study, Brenna has been a student coordinator for both Tigers In Service and Global Leadership Project in the Center for Civic Leadership. The Newman Civic Fellows Award honors inspiring college student leaders who have demonstrated an investment in finding solutions for challenges facing communities throughout the country. The award is named for Dr. Frank Newman, a founder of Campus Compact, a national coalition of almost 1,200 college and university presidents representing more than six million students who are committed to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility.
