HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University's Gold Cord Chapter of Mortar Board will feature Dr. Eugene T. Rice, chair of the Department of Philosophy, in its first lecture series. Gold Cord plans to make the series an annual feature.

"We hope to have a lecture twice a year, once in the fall and another in the spring," Chris Rohr, Gold Cord chapter president said. "We will feature professors from our campus, and we hope to bring in professors from other universities as well."

The lecture, "Human Rights in the 21st Century: Terrorism, Torture and the Rise of China," will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, in the Stouffer Lounge in the Memorial Union on the FHSU campus.
