HAYS, Kan. -- To commemorate the life of Nobel Peace Prize recipient Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Fort Hays State University will hold the third annual Candlelight Celebration from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center of Sheridan Hall on the FHSU campus.

This year's theme is "Be the One," which shows the connectedness between King, Rosa Parks and Malcolm X in their work and commitment to the civil rights movement.

Entertainers at the event will be Mike Ferguson, Jessica Maguire and Jamison Green. The main production will be "The 60s, Oh, What a Time it Was," produced, co-written and directed by George Jackson III, coordinator of diversity affairs at FHSU.
