Debi Cox, Fort Hays State University graduate student in Ceramics, opened her thesis exhibition last weekend in the Moss-Thorns Gallery in Rarick Hall. Cox's exhibition will be open during the Summer Gallery Walk from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, in the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art in Rarick Hall, room 102, on the FHSU campus.
The exhibit, titled "Compassionate Clay," features ceramics and paintings. Many of her pieces have unique seed pod formations. Cox says her pieces "symbolize the cycle of life and seeds of hope and renewal."
"I hope people will take away from the show that building relationships and being there for each other is really important," said Cox. After viewing the exhibit, visitors can take home special seed pod sculptures that Cox created.
"Compassionate Clay" will be on display in the Moss-Thorns Gallery until Friday, July 3. For more information, contact the Department of Art and Design at 785-628-4247. To see more of Cox's work, visit debicox.com.
