07/15/15
"Taking Control of Conflict," the first workshop to be offered this fall by the Management Development Center at Fort Hays State University, will begin at 1p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the Memorial Union's Stouffer Lounge. Participants will have the opportunity to learn a process that encourages shared solutions to resolve conflicts.
Ruth Bealer, human resources director for the accounting firm Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball, will facilitate.
"Dealing with conflict can be challenging at any level in the organization," said Sabrina William, director of the MDC. "Much of the information provided at the workshop is applicable to anyone interested in learning to handle conflicts skillfully and confidently."
The half-day workshop is designed to provide a more thorough understanding of the causes of conflict and how to solve them objectively. Participants will learn to effectively handle disputes with a resolution mindset through initial steps and trial solutions.
Completion certificates will be given. The cost is $119; registrations received prior to July 31 are preferred.
Hays Area Chamber of Commerce members are eligible for a 15-percent discount.
