HAYS, Kan. – Since 2008, Fort Hays State University has hosted free monthly presentations to share science with the public.
The next program of the Science Café, sponsored by FHSU’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI), is 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11.
Representatives of two local utility companies will join FHSU’s Dr. Todd Moore in presenting “Polar Vortex – Utility Reliability and Economic Implications” at The Venue in Thirsty’s Brew Pub & Grill, 2704 Vine.
Presenters in addition to Moore – associate professor and chair of the Department of Geosciences at FHSU – will be Pat Parke, CEO of Midwest Energy, Inc., and Stuart Lowry, president and CEO of Sunflower Electric Power Corp.
