FHSU’s Science Café set for Jan. 29

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State University’s next Science Café will be held on Monday, Jan. 29.
This month’s presentation, entitled “Mind Altering Or Mental Health Treatment: Can Psychedelic Drugs Effectively Treat Mental Disorders?” is sponsored by FHSU’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI). It will begin at 7 p.m. at The Venue in Thirsty’s Brew Pub & Grill, 2704 Vine.
Dr. Stephanie Weigel, assistant professor of psychology at Fort Hays State, will discuss current trends and research exploring the use of psychedelic drugs to treat mental health disorders such as depression, substance use, and anxiety.
