What does it mean for you to be selected for this award?

I feel very honored to have been selected for this award. This was the first major research project I had been a part of, and I could not have done it without the help of Forsyth Library.

What are your future career goals?

Once I graduate, I plan to return to my hometown of Salina, Kansas, and work as a middle school teacher there, hopefully in history!

Why should other students get involved in research?

Doing so opens up so many more pathways. Not only will it look good on a resume, but it will connect you with professors and peers you would not have met otherwise. Even more importantly, it will give you vital skills that will help you no matter what career field you choose to go into.
