The Office of Technology Services maintains and supports all aspects of technology at Fort Hays State University, including enterprise administrative systems and applications, networking and infrastructure, telecommunications, information security, user support, training and documentation, technology purchasing, and desktop, lab and classroom support.

1. Administration

The IT administration team is responsible for the overall management and administrative support for the Office of Technology Services. In addition, this group also oversees information security, security awareness training, and authentication support for the university.

2. Fiscal and Business Operations

The Fiscal and Business Operations team is responsible for financial analysis and reporting, logistical and budgetary analysis and support, technology equipment and software procurement, business processes, procedures and documentation, IT project management, and technical training programs for the University.

3. International Operations

International support is provided to assist with the unique technology needs of the faculty and students in our China partnership schools.

TigerTech

1. Network Operations

TigerTech serves as the HelpDesk for FHSU. It is the primary technical assistance resource for the University internally and the extended campus community. Tier 1 Student Support Agents receive all incoming calls to the University, as well as provide technical support by phone, online chat, and walk-in assistance to students, faculty and staff. Tier 2 Full-time Staff and Student Technicians support faculty and staff by providing and maintaining University-owned computers, software, and related peripherals.

Network Operations is responsible for installing and maintaining the ethernet and wireless network infrastructure at FHSU and ensuring the security of our Internet traffic. In addition, they maintain FHSU’s VPN, device registration, and electronic door access systems.

2. Server Operations

The Server Operations group installs and maintains FHSU’s servers, redundancy and backup systems, email systems, network shares, and various system interfaces.

3. Telecommunication Operations

The Telecommunications group installs and maintains the campus phone and voicemail infrastructure and oversees the CommPortal phone and call management application.

4. Classroom and Theatre Support

This group installs and supports a variety of Audio/Visual equipment across campus including technology for classrooms, conference rooms, meeting/collaboration spaces, and digital signage. They are also responsible for maintaining and operating technology, sound, and lighting equipment in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, Gross Memorial Coliseum, Lewis Field, and other FHSU Athletic facilities.

5. New Development

The New Development group is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of in-house web-based applications and databases, as well as the configuration and security of third-party enterprise applications.

6. Computing Services & Workday Development

Computing Services staff maintain FHSU’s database operations and assist the New Development group with maintaining programs and applications.

Workday Development staff are responsible for the development, maintenance, configuration, and security of the Workday administrative and student systems and related applications.
