College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) Test Information
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows you to receive college credit for what you already know by earning qualifying scores on any of 34 examinations. Through CLEP, you can earn credit for knowledge acquired through independent study, prior course work, on-the-job training, professional development, cultural pursuits, or internships.
Visit the official CLEP website to learn more about the CLEP credit-by-examination program, including test preparation, examination descriptions, and test center locations.
Scheduling an Appointment
Testing Services administers CLEP examinations by appointment during office hours. Please contact our office to schedule an in-person appointment or get additional information on test requirements, fees, and policies. For optimum availability, we recommend contacting us two weeks before a desired test date.
You can take CLEP examinations at any official CLEP testing center. To locate a center near you, visit CLEP's Find a Test Center page. You must contact the test center of your choice for information on test dates and test administration fees.
CLEP also offers test takers the option to take a CLEP exam at home with remote proctoring. Visit the CLEP Remote Proctoring webpage for additional information and requirements.
You must create a CLEP account, purchase the exam you wish to take, and select the institution to which your scores are sent before your exam appointment. You must present your printed CLEP Registration Ticket, acceptable photo ID, and the additional test administration fee when you arrive for your exam.
FHSU Test Administration Fee: $30 payable on the day of the test by cash or check only. Credit and debit cards are not accepted. Please note that this is in addition to the test fee you pay CLEP when you purchase the exam on the CLEP website.
