Fort Hays State University is currently accepting applications for the position of University Police Officer. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have no felony convictions, have no convictions of domestic violence, and must maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. The selection process includes P.O.S.T written testing, physical agility testing, extensive criminal background investigation, and interview board. Successful candidate must also complete psychological, polygraph, and drug testing, as well as a physical examination. Preference will be given to applicants with KLETC certification. Starting salary range is $16.23/hourly depending on KLETC or recognized equivalent certification and/or experience. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, tuition assistance, KP&F retirement plan.   • Due to construction, and the installing of new parking spaces, a portion of North Campus Drive has been closed down to a one-way street, please be aware that the flow of traffic will be travelling west on the one-way portion of the street. There is two-lane traffic allowed on the east end of North Campus Drive, up to the narrowing of the road.
  • Reminder - Visitor parking is not for faculty, staff, or students to park in. This includes all students who live off campus. They are for non-FHSU-affiliated persons only.
  • Please have all visitors come to the Center of Public Safety in the basement of Custer Hall in order to receive a visitor's parking pass.
  • There is an unprecedented amount of construction happening on campus, please be aware of your surroundings and cautious in these areas.
