Future Educators' Day
Fort Hays State University’s Admissions Office and the Teacher Education Department will host the 6th annual Future Educators' Day at FHSU on Monday, September 29th, 2025.
The event is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in becoming teachers and will allow students to learn more about the profession and what it’s like to be part of Tiger Teacher Nation at FHSU. This event is free and will include a continental breakfast and buffet-style lunch.
Admissions and Teacher Education will also draw for scholarships ranging from $200 to $1,000.
We are pleased to have Kerri Lacy as our keynote speaker! A former USD 489 and current Independence, MO principal!
As part of this exciting day, students will do the following:
- Learn from Kerri Lacy, 2024 Kansas Elementary Principal of the Year
- Interact with current education majors to learn more about a “day in the life” of a Tiger Teacher.
- Learn about opportunities and organizations such as the Education Small Learning Community, Teacher Education Honors Program, Study Abroad, Study Away, and many more!
