1) LIVE. Throughout your academic career at Fort Hays State University, you will LIVE leadership and receive a hands-on leadership education. Our Leadership 310* students plan annual events, seminars, and activities that utilize the skills they learn within Leadership Programs and Fort Hays State University.
Examples of current Leadership 310 Projects:
- "Must and Monsters 5K", supporting the Western Plains Animal Refuge.
- "Googlecation," helping students utilize all the resources Google offers.
- "From Field to Family" demonstrates how people and communities are connected to agriculture and educate them on how they can play a vital role in the promotion and knowledge of agriculture today.
* All Leadership students are required to take Leadership 310.
2) LEARN. You will LEARN a valued and dynamic set of skills that help you lead. Our diverse curriculum teaches students sets of transferable skills that will help them succeed personally and professionally. In our department, you will learn through service-learning projects, traditional classes, study abroad opportunities, internships, and research activities. Students attend classes on campus, virtually, and with our partner universities in China.
