Music Major for a Day
Experience a day in the life of a music major. High School and Community College/Transfer students interested in majoring in music at FHSU have the opportunity to attend classes, particpate in ensembles, and get to know other students and faculty.
Other events include:
- campus/facility tours
- sample classes and rehearsals
- Q&A with current students and music faculty
- optional private lessons with faculty
Next Music Major for a Day: Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Registration will open in February.
Schedule:
9:00 - Welcome event at Palmer Hall
9:30 - Course 1: Listening to Music
10:30 - Course 2: Wind Ensemble/Music History
11:30 - Course 3: Conducting Techniques
12:00 - Lunch provided
12:30- Course 4: Concert Choir
1:30 - Q&A session with students and faculty/possible campus tour
2:00 - Return home or attend more rehearsals (optional)
