Come support Tiger Athletics! You are allowed free access to regular season Fort Hays State University athletic events with your Tiger ID card. Visit the Tiger Card Center in the Memorial Union to get yours. FHSU students receive free admission to all ticketed home athletic events. Each student is eligible for one (1) ticket per event.

Counseling Services are available to students in need of mental health support to improve their academic success. In person counseling is available in Hays and Telehealth is available to any student within the state of Kansas. Services for preventing and treating alcohol and drug abuse are available through The Drug and Alcohol Wellness Network (DAWN). Services are free with the exception of substance abuse evaluations.
Togetherall is an online service provided to all students in need of additional mental health support through peer to peer interaction. It provides free, anonymous, 24/7 peer support. Campus Intramurals and Recreational Sports are available to all gateway students. Some activities are free of charge, while others are not. In order to participate, you will need to bring your ID to all activities.
To participate in intramurals, create an account through IMLeagues as part of the Fort Hays State University account. You will need to use your FH Tech email, or if you have an FHSU email address, you can use that.

Health & Wellness Services provides prompt, individualized care on campus, covering treatment and prevention to support students’ academic success. Services include treatment for minor illnesses (e.g. colds, flu, UTIs) and injuries (e.g. scrapes, strains), women’s and men’s health services, administration of immunizations, allergy injections, lab tests, blood pressure checks, physicals (e.g. for sports or work), and medication management for mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Most major insurance is accepted, and hardship discounts are available to students.

The Memorial Union serves as a home away from home for students. It features Starbucks, student activities, study spaces, food options, lounges, the Student Health Center, Victor E. Parking permits are required beginning the first day of classes for any vehicle parked on campus between 7 am and 5 pm, or 24 hours a day in the residence hall lots. Purchase a permit at the Center for Public Safety, located in the lower level of Custer Hall, or online.

The Residential Life Office provides several different types of housing options, including, traditional residence halls, suites, apartments, and family housing apartments. Student Success & Retention offers academic support programs and peer tutoring to strengthen learning skills, personal counseling services to support individual development, testing services for the administration of national exams, and the Drug and Alcohol Wellness Network (DAWN), which focuses on the prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug misuse. All services are provided at no cost, except for substance abuse evaluations and testing fees.

Gateway students are encouraged to visit Tebo Library to have on-campus access to research databases, check out books, use the computers and TigerPrint station, and use the library spaces such as the open study areas, the study and meeting rooms rooms, or the Media Lab for audio and video projects. Anyone can Ask A Librarian to get one-on-one research help to guide you how to find, use, evaluate, or cite sources – use the convenient chat feature or call, text, email, or schedule an appointment. Gateway students who activate their TigerNetID will also have off-campus access to the library’s research databases to find peer-reviewed articles and e-books using your own device from the comfort of your home. Your Tiger Card may be obtained in the Tiger Card Center, room 208 in the Memorial Union, or online here. Please be prepared to present a valid photo ID such as a current government issued driver’s license, military ID, passport, other state-issued photo ID when obtaining your Tiger Card. The first card costs $10.00 plus sales tax. Your Tiger Card is required for the check-out of library materials, access to residential life meal plans and flexi-cash, use of Health & Wellness Services, Intramurals recreational areas, and admission for athletic and cultural events. The Tiger Aquatic Center is available to use for students of the Fort Hays Tech Gateway Program. To utilize this service, students will need their FHSU ID to provide to the Lifeguards on staff when the pool is open for lap swim or open swim. The Tiger Aquatic Center has an 8 lane, 25 yard lap pool with a 13 foot diving well with a single diving board. We do sometimes offer lifeguard certification classes and swim lessons, please contact Jordan Barrett at jrbarrett3@fhsu.edu for further information. Towels are available for use in the locker room if you don't have your own. If you would like to check out a locker in the locker room, please visit CH 111 (Intramurals Office) to check out a locker to house your swim gear.

The Tiger Fitness Center at Fort Hays State University is a modern, inclusive facility with resistance training machines, free weights, and a cardio theater – all with the purpose of supporting students’ physical health, wellness, and academic success. Gateway students can utilize the Fitness Center located in Cunningham Hall 132 by checking in with their FHSU Student ID at the front desk. In addition to the general fitness center students can participate in free group fitness classes such as Fit-30, HIIT, TRX, and Yoga which are open to all fitness levels and held in the dance room (Cunningham Hall 122). Taking advantage of these resources is a great way for the Gateway student to stay active, manage stress, and support their overall academic success. Acts as the FHSU HelpDesk and serves as the main source of technical support for the University, including both on-campus users and the extended campus community. Assistance is available for FHSU email use, campus wireless internet access, and TigerPrint stations. All official University communications are delivered through email, and students are assigned a @mail.fhsu.edu email address. On-Campus Housing
As part of the Gateway Program, you have the option to live on the FHSU campus in a residence hall or campus apartment.
There are a few important things to know about living on the FHSU campus:
- You must be officially registered at Fort Hays Tech | North Central.
- You must abide by all policies in the "FHSU Student Rights and Responsibilities" statement, the "Residential Life Policy Handbook" and housing contract.
- You are subject to the FHSU student conduct review process.
- You have the option of participating in the meal plan.
- Access to the meal plan and on-campus housing is subject to the FHSU schedule.

Gateway Paths
Gateway 1 - University Path
Take a variety of courses that will transfer to FHSU.
- 24 hours of General Education Credit
- 18 hours of General Education credit + 6 hours transferable elective technical education credit
- 24 hours of any transferable credit
Gateway 2 - Certificate Path
Follow a more directed plan of study aimed at providing you transferable credit to FHSU. Gain employable skills that you can then use to help support yourself as you work towards a degree at FHSU.

Gateway 3 - Associate Degree Path
Get the education and develop the skills you need to obtain an entry-level career upon graduation from Fort Hays Tech | North Central. Then, build upon that college credit and career potential by earning a bachelor's degree from FHSU.
