Related Programs
Students interested in chemistry-related fields may also find several other programs appealing. Each option supports different interests and career goals. Some of these programs include:
- Master of Science in Education (Chemistry Emphasis)
- Master of Professional Studies (Chemistry)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Pre-Dental)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Pre-Medicine)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Pre-Optometry)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Pre-Osteopathy)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Pre-Pharmacy)
- B.A. in Chemistry (Forensic Science)
A B.A./B.S. in Chemistry can lead to various careers in biotechnology, environmental chemistry, food and flavor chemistry, materials science, education, and much more.
Yes, inorganic chemistry is a required part of the curriculum.
The usual time to obtain this degree is four years. However, students may be able to complete their degree in less time if they transfer credits from other institutions.
FHSU does not currently offer a fully online B.A. or B.S. in Chemistry program.
Students pursuing a B.A. in Chemistry must complete ten credit hours in a language other than English, providing them with broader cultural and linguistic perspectives.
In contrast, the B.S. in Chemistry does not require foreign language study, allowing students to place greater emphasis on technical and scientific coursework. Despite this difference, both programs share comparable total credit hours and core requirements, ensuring that all students receive a comprehensive and well-rounded education in the field of chemistry.
