Reinstatement
Students suspended from the university for poor scholarship will be provided the right to appeal following their first academic suspension.
Students will not be allowed an immediate appeal if they have been previously suspended. After the first suspension, students must wait at least one semester before appealing for reinstatement, and should use this time to reflect on their academic challenges and plan for a successful return. Students enrolling at another school during their period of suspension from the university will be expected to meet university admission requirements to return to FHSU. An official transcript from other institutions must be sent to the Office of the Registrar.
If a student wishes to apply for reinstatement, an Online Application for Academic Reinstatement must be completed and submitted for review by the Academic Reinstatement Committee. Students are encouraged to submit thoughtful and complete responses, demonstrating what they have learned from their academic challenges and experiences, and that they have made plans to support their academic success if reinstated. The Academic Reinstatement Committee will not meet with students in person or online, so it is important to include all relevant information for the Committee’s consideration in the online appeal form. Reinstatement is not automatic.
Students who are approved for reinstatement will receive an Online Agreement for Academic Reinstatement that they will need to review, sign, and return in order to register for Spring Semester.
Students seeking reinstatement for Spring semester 2026 must submit the completed Online Application for Academic Reinstatement no later than January 11, 2026. Decisions will be made the week of January 12-16.
