MS in Counseling – College Counseling/Student Affairs
The 60-hour MS in Counseling – College Counseling Students Affairs is for individuals who desire to work as in higher education settings in such areas as campus counseling centers, career service centers, student support services, disability services, campus diversity and multicultural programs, and campus crisis response teams. The degree leads to eligibility as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Kansas.
Professionals in higher education advocate to meet the needs of college students. The program’s focus centers around the development of counseling skills to support and encourage academic, social, personal, and career development among college students. Students in the program will receive specific training in the College Counseling/Student Affairs profession and complete their field experience in a college/university setting.
Admission Requirements (Review of applications for the Summer begins 4/15/2020)
The program requires some on campus meetings to meet Kansas licensure standards. The meetings are required for 30 course hours. Instead of meeting each week, the meetings occur during 2 Summer intensives. Student programs can be redesigned to meet licensure eligibility in their state.
