Applied Technology Professor Recognized as Emerging Leader
Mr. Eric Deneault, Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Technology was awarded a coveted mark of distinction in technology in engineering education by the International Technology and Engineering Education Association (ITEEA) at their national conference in Atlanta, GA, on April 12, 2018, when he received the Emerging Leader award.
Deneault, a three time graduate of Fort Hays State University, (2007-Bachelor of Science in Technology Studies, 2011-Bachelor of Science in Technology Education, and 2013-Masters of Instructional Technology) was one of the six educators from across the country recognized. Emerging Leaders were chosen based on their high level of competence and professional activity, leadership/management skills, participation in association education programs, and demonstration of leadership in association, community, and personal activities.
Mr. Deneault has been employed by Fort Hays State University since 2013. Previously, he taught and coached at Southeast of Saline for six years.
In Department of Applied Technology, at Fort Hays State University, Mr. Deneault is the lead Engineering Design Technology Professor where he teaches: Introduction to CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting), STEM in Technology Systems, Engineering Graphics, Manufacturing Graphics, an Undergraduate Research Class – currently working on a solar powered recreational charging station, and he helps cover a general education course: Technology in Society. In addition, Mr. Deneault serves as the lead Technology and Engineering Education Association (TEECA) sponsor.
Outside of work, Eric coaches wrestling for the Hays Wresting Club, he works on various side projects, he enjoys gardening & yard work, and following his kids’ sporting events. Eric and his wife Amanda have eight-year-old twins, Gaven and Braelyn.
