Internship
FHSU offers a variety of Internships. The following programs have developed a specific process for assessing the learning experience and earning a badge.
FHSU/Dane G. Hanson
The FHSU / Dane G Hansen internship results from a partnership between Fort Hays State University, The Dane G Hansen Foundation and organizations in North West Kansas. Organizations from within the Dane G Hansen Foundation service area apply to hire a FHSU student for a semester long internship. FHSU students interview with the selected organizations and FHSU career services. Students selected work with the partnering organization to carry out assigned work experiences, and FHSU staff to reflect on the connection with their academic program. Students are paid by FHSU through a grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation. Internship areas vary by semester depending upon the selected partner organizations. The badge is earned upon completion of the process, including the student reflection detailing how they applied what they have learned and how the understanding of that learning has grown from the experience. Participation in this program is open to all FHSU students but the selection process for each internship is competitive.
