College of Education Pinning Ceremony

The purpose of the College of Education Pinning Ceremony is public affirmation of our Tiger Teachers' readiness to lead with integrity, purpose and excellence in the education profession. Tiger Teacher candidates who have completed course work that leads to an Initial Teaching License are honored at the Pinning Ceremony.
With teacher candidates spanning across the FHSU Colleges of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship, the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, and the Werth College of Science, Technology, and Mathematics, this ceremony provides the College of Education the opportunity to honor all of the teacher candidates in one ceremony.

Undergraduate and Graduate Level Tiger Teacher Candidates who have completed course work that leads to an initial teaching license.
This includes:
- Undergraduate and Graduate Student Teachers in the current semester who are completing a program leading to an initial teaching license.
- Elementary and Secondary Graduate Transition to Teaching degree and nondegree candidates who are completing a program leading to an initial teaching license.
- Special-Education LRL candidates who are completing a program leading to an initial teaching license
This is an intimate College of Education ceremony with fellow teacher candidates and faculty designed specifically to honor our Future Tiger Teachers. Candidates receive a pin and stole that may be worn with their graduation regalia at their own college's commencement ceremony that recognizes them as a Tiger Teacher. In addition to the pin and stole, all participants receive a classroom starter kit of supplies.
Following the ceremony there will be a reception and opportunities to take pictures and visit with your favorite College of Education Faculty and Staff.
