Residential Life Accommodations
Fort Hays State University provides reasonable residential life accommodations to students with disabilities who have a verifiable need for such accommodations. A reasonable accommodation is an exception to the usual rules, policies, practices, or services that a resident with a disability may need to have an equal opportunity to use University housing resources.
The Three-Step Process
- Step 1: Complete and submit the Residential Life Accommodations Questionnaire.
- Step 2: Submit the documentation provided by Student Accessibility Services (SAS) relevant to your specific request.
- Step 3: Attend a required intake appointment, upon request, after SAS has reviewed your documentation and contacted you. The appointment may occur in-person or by phone/video.
What Happens Next?
SAS will submit your request to the housing committee for review. SAS will inform you of the FHSU Housing Committee's determination and any next steps, if needed.
