Preparing for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science (KAMS) begins with a strong academic foundation and a passion for learning. Prospective students should focus on excelling in advanced coursework, particularly in mathematics and science, while also developing strong study habits and time management skills. Participation in extracurricular activities such as science fairs, math competitions, or STEM clubs can help build a well-rounded application. Equally important is cultivating curiosity, independence, and a willingness to take on academic challenges in a college environment. Students and families are encouraged to attend information sessions, connect with current KAMS students or alumni, and explore the program’s expectations to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
