Build the Future of Microcredentials at FHSU
FHSU is committed to delivering flexible, career-focused professional education and workforce training through microcredential programs. If you're an FHSU department ready to design a new program or a subject matter expert interested in facilitating courses, you'll find everything you need here to take the next step.
Develop a Microcredential Program
Microcredential programs offer focused, flexible professional education and workforce training that meets learners where they are. These non-credit programs—delivered through workshops, bootcamps, online courses, and other formats—allow professionals to upskill or reskill without pursuing a traditional degree.
Expand Your Reach: Connect with learners beyond traditional degree programs, including working professionals, alumni, and community members seeking targeted skill development.
Generate Revenue: Create new income streams for your department through enrollment in flexible, market-responsive programs.
Showcase Faculty Expertise: Highlight your department's specialized knowledge and establish thought leadership in emerging areas of your field.
Meet Workforce Needs: Address skills gaps and respond quickly to industry demands with focused, practical training that traditional degree programs may not cover.
Build Community Partnerships: Strengthen relationships with local employers and organizations by providing workforce development solutions tailored to their needs.
Flexibility and Innovation: Design programs with creative formats, pricing, and delivery methods that align with your department's goals and learner preferences.
- Program Exploration: Start by meeting with our team to discuss your program concept. We'll walk you through the proposal process, explore potential opportunities, and help you refine your ideas to align with workforce needs and your department's strengths.
- Market Assessment: Work with our Director of Assessment to understand demand for your proposed program. We'll provide market analysis reports and help you articulate the skills, outcomes, and value your microcredential will deliver to learners.
- Program Proposal: Complete the Microcredential Proposal Form and meet with PCE to finalize program details. We'll discuss delivery format, scheduling, pricing, partnership agreements, and quality standards to ensure your program is set up for success.
- Program Development: Partner with our program development team to create course materials, build content in our learning platform, design your digital badge, and develop a marketing strategy to reach your target audience.
- Launch Program: Your program is entered into our registration system, marketing begins, and enrollment opens. You're ready to welcome your first cohort of learners.
