The Training & Consulting Services (TCS) branch of PCE offers programs designed for anyone eager to learn. Whether you’re looking to enhance your skills, pursue a new interest, or advance your career, our workshops and courses are open to all. No matter your background or experience level, we’re here to help you achieve your goals.

Live Programs

Engage in dynamic, interactive learning experiences led by expert instructors. These programs provide hands-on opportunities to develop skills, network with peers, and gain practical knowledge in a collaborative environment. Live programs are delivered on-site in Hays or via Zoom.

Designed for experienced Excel users, this advanced course focuses on high-level functions and data analysis tools. Participants will explore pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros, and data validation techniques to streamline workflows and make informed decisions using complex data sets.

Online Programs

Our online courses offer the flexibility to learn at your own pace. Designed to fit into your busy schedule, these programs feature engaging content and expert guidance to help you reach your goals, no matter where you are.

Is it best to spend time utilizing your strengths or is it more productive to work on your weaknesses? Gallup’s strengths theory claims people should spend the majority of their time doing what they do best; using their already existing natural talents to become more productive and profitable in the workplace and at home. Using Gallup's CliftonStrengths® assessment, we will explore your natural talents and how to turn those talents into strengths. Access to your Top 5 insights are provided.

Utilizing Gallup’s CliftonStrengths® profile, this professional development program takes your talent themes to the next level. In CliftonStrengths®: Engaged, participants are given access to their Full 34 Profile, enabling them to explore their Top 10 Talent Themes and understand how to manage their lesser talents. Participants will learn how to build complementary partnerships to overcome challenges and achieve goals and develop strengths-based teams using powerful questions and detailed theme insights.

Foundations in Telemental Health offers a comprehensive foundation in telehealth delivery for mental health professionals. It covers the ethical, legal, and practical aspects of telehealth, emphasizing essential skills and best practices for counselors, therapists, and other practitioners transitioning to or enhancing their telehealth services. This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge to offer effective, ethical, and legally compliant telehealth services.

Advanced Clinical Skills in Telemental Health is designed for licensed counselors, therapists, and other mental health professionals seeking to deepen their telehealth expertise. This training covers advanced therapeutic techniques, strategies for engaging clients in a virtual environment, and specialized skills for handling crises, maintaining client confidentiality, and promoting client-centered care. Participants will learn how to effectively apply techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) in a telehealth context, with a focus on ethical and practical considerations. 

This course emphasizes the unique challenges and techniques involved in providing telehealth services to special populations, such as children and adolescents, rural communities, and discusses telemental health counseling interventions. It also focuses on school-based telehealth counseling services and working with underserved populations who may face barriers to in-person care.

This course will give P - 12 educators a comprehensive overview of the history, theory and instructional practices in the science of reading and structured literacy for students with dyslexia. The six units will include lectures, demonstrations, simulations, assessments of knowledge, and feedback. Learn pedagogical techniques that are evidence-based and specifically tailored to address dyslexia related challenges. 

Our SHRM Certification Prep+ online course offers expert instruction and utilizes the SHRM Certification Prep System—the official certification preparation tool—along with supplemental materials from FHSU's experienced facilitators, all delivered through a high-quality online learning platform. These comprehensive and effective resources are designed to ensure your success in the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) or the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) exam.

Advanced Career Training courses can put you on a path to an in-demand profession. You can begin these programs at any time and learn at your own pace through FHSU's partnership with ed2go*. Upon successful completion of all coursework, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion and/or a digital badge with Credly.
